My grandmother has been wanting to get me a cell phone for a while. Now we are trying to find out if its possible to get a cell phone for a reasonable price. She doesn't want to have to recieve a bill every month or pay on credit and I don't want to have a pre-paid phone because those are expensive to keep having to buy cards for. Is there any alternatives like where you can pay just cash ahead of time every month and get a cell phone with reasonable charges in corpus christi, texas???

check virgin mobile. they seem to have the most variety by means of pay. i'm sorry to say that with the speculations you have about credit and pay as you go. BTW: no matter what type of plan you get you HAVE to get a bill in the mail. there is just no other way to know how much you have to pay.

I don't know if you have Cricket or cingular there
Cricket is good because you pay 35. a month unlimited time
for another 15. you can have long distance and call anywhere in the USA
Cingular is good because it has roll over minutes

as far as i know, for prepaids you don't haveto do it everymonth you can buy like a year or 2 worths of minutes. no contract or bill. ask the service provider you want about it. but im sure almost all of them do it. ie: cingular/at&t, sprint/nextel, tmobile, verizon etc.
