I've always been a slow learner. I'm in my mid 30's now, and I'm still a slow learner. I find it to be a pretty big problem when I'm new in a job. What can someone who is a slow learner do to pick up things faster?

I do take materials home with me to study, but it hasn't quite been enough for most positions that pay over $40K/year.

first of all dont consider yourself a burden even if it may take awhile to learn a new job. Look---the boss gives you the job to do, and its going to take everyone time to learn a new job. we are not all wizzes at stepping into something new. So you go at your own pace and we do the best we can. If it doesnt work out say seeyou later. there s more jobs out there. good luck. bettyk

You may need to take time at home when you are not at work and review some of the requirements that are needed to perform the job. If you review some of the things while at home and practice - this may increase your chances for sucess on the job. Also, if it is feasible, request a mentor, that can work with you to help ypu learn your job. Good LUCK!
