I can only say that I have encountered one ot two that could verify a lifetime of a few centuries and claimed to be older than that.

no but there are mortal people who think they're vampires like the woman who tied up some guy and cut him and drank his blood. this really happened a few weeks ago. but there are no real vampires.

They're only real in someone's imagination, but you could use
the term for someone that's trying to suck the life out of you.
