Start wearing maternity clothes when you start feeling the slightest uncomfortable. Either you'll feel physically bothered by something snug or your mind will tell you it's time. Generally this will be between 3-5 months but it really varies from person to person. It's up to you. I personal don't recommend waiting til you show, that just puts added pressure on your uterus. It's a good idea to wear loose fitting clothes if you don't feel ready to wear the "maternity" clothes. I am 19 weeks pregnant and started wearing maternity jeans last month because of the uncomfortable feeling of my jeans on my abdomen. Best wishes to you!

When you can't wear your old clothes comfortably anymore. You're probably getting REALLY close to that point, if you're not there already. Remember, it's all about comfort. Anything to help make this time more comfortable for you is what you need to do. Also, some women I know never wear actual maternity clothes. They wear elastic waist pants and loop rubber bands around the button of their jeans and wear long, stretchy shirts. So there's no right or wrong time. It's just what you want to do, because heck...it's your clothes!

There are two eternal rules about maternity clothes.

1. Everyone should start wearing them when their own clothing becomes too tight or uncomfortable. It doesn't matter what day or month it is, or how far along you are.

2. No matter when you are pregnant, the maternity clothes will all be ugly. As soon as you give birth, they'll get cute again.

When your clothes start to feel uncomfortable, try maternity clothes.

Im 32 weeks and i find that maternity clothes are uncomfortable. I usually jsut wear a pair of nice sweat pants and a shirt that still fits over my belly.

If you are 20 weeks you are 5 months. You will probably need to be wearing maternity clothes soon, if not already. I have been in them since 4 months.

I'm also 20 weeks and actuially started wearing them now. mostly shirts. But you can buy bigger pants or maternity pants. Soon as my regular clothes stared feeling snug on me i went out to the store. I would suggest to go to a thrift shop or friends who have recently had babies. Its more of your own choice when you want to buy the clothes.

As soon as your regular clothes become tight and uncomfortable. I know some people were able to wear thier regular clothes through the whole pregnancy. But for me I wore them as soon as possible that way people could tell I was pregnant not just getting chubby. HEHE ;-) hope I helped!
