ISO files are image files and require a program to "mount" them to play. There are several excellent free programs available. Here are a few suggestions:
1. Alcohol 52% free edition (http://www.free-downloads.net/programs/Alcohol_52__Free_Edition)
2. Daemon Tools (http://www.filehippo.com/download_daemon_tools/)
3. Virtual Clone Drive (http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-clonedrive.html)
4. Microsoft's Virtual CD-ROM program (http://download.microsoft.com/download/7/b/6/7b6abd84-7841-4978-96f5-bd58df02efa2/winxpvirtualcdcontrolpanel_21.exe)
If you want to read more about ISO images and how they are used, read this article:
"How Do I Use or Open Bin, Cue, or ISO Files?" -- written by tech recipe.com (http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/696/how_use_open_bin_cue_iso_files)
All 4 programs are good but my personal preference is Virtual Clone Drive because it is easy to use. It is a good program if you want to play CD or DVD audio and video files. Daemon Tools comes with an optional toolbar. The problem is that many consider the toolbar to be adware. During installation, when prompted, do not choose to install it. Daemon Tools is usedly widely to mount computer games. Personally, I have not used Alcohol 52% free edition before but I hear very good things about it. Microsoft's Virtual Drive is probably the hardest to use but the program is small, great if you don't have a lot of free space on your hard drive. In addition, since it was developed by Microsoft, it works perfectly in Windows. Some people experience problems using the other programs in Windows - very rare.
