Rasputin's Daughter, by Robert Alexander
*The Night, by Elie Wiesel
*The Pianist, by Wladyslaw Szpilman

Queen's Own Fool, by Jane Yolen and Robert J. Harris
The Queen's Fool, by Philippa Gregory
The Other Boleyn Girl, by Philippa Gregory

*Falling Leaves, by Adeline Yen Mah

Some (marked with *) are autobiographies, which may or may not be what you're looking for, but are still entertaining and based around the history they were in.

I'm just going to second Philippa Gregory and The Other Boleyn Girl as well as The Virgin's Lover, especially if you have an interest in British history during Henry VIII and after.

Well,"Music&Silence" and "Restauration" by Rose Tremain,it`s absolutely fantastic, then You can read Alexandre Dumas "Queen Margot" , "The red Sphinx" (I suppose You have...)so much suspence and the plots are incredible...I can`t remember the author`s name but the book is called "Elisabeth and Essex".... "Mary of Carrisbrouke" it`s about Cromwell`s revolution,(the romance, the action, historical facts, it has it all)..

Read Angels and Demons. It has historical references in it. A lot about the vatican and vatican city. It also talks about art of times pass. If you've seen and like Da Vinci code, then you'll enjoy this book
