Enola Gay by OMD. So emotive, about a true event and a great 80's track. There are many other great tunes from the 80's but that one is my favorite. The recent dance/rave version of it was excellent too.

This is actually a simple question, and the song came out in 1980, it is the defining song of the 80's. It influenced most of the bands that had the "80's sound". It is "love will tear us apart" by Joy Division. Arguing is futile.

Tough question! Just a few of my faves are:

"Life In A Northern Town" - The Dream Academy
"(Don't You) Forget About Me" - Simple Minds
"I Melt With You" - Modern English
"Rock Box" - Run DMC
"Rock Me Amadeus" - Falco
"Turn Me Loose" - Loverboy
"In Your Eyes" - Peter Gabriel
"Girl Can't Help It" - Journey
"Mexican Radio" - Wall Of Voodoo
"You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth" - Meatloaf
"I Want To Know What Love Is" - Foreigner
"Where The Streets Have No Name" - U2
"Love Missile F1-11" - Sigue Sigue Sputnik
"Live To Tell" - Madonna
"A Million Miles Away" - The Plimsouls

And on and on and on... To me, creatively the last great music decade (I also love the 50's, 60's and 70's.). It's been sadly downhill (with a few shining moments) since then.
