Don't you drink bathroom water when you brush your teeth? Or if you get up in the middle of the night? Why do so many people object to drinking water from the bathroom tap? There's NO difference!

It's the idea of it. Consuming something from the place we poop and pee.

That and probably some class thing -- someone wanting to seem higher class passed on the silly prejudice to their kids, who took it seriously and passed it on to theirs.

I'm guessing, as I've never heard anyone say this.

Back when people kept their medicine in the cabinet in the bathroom, they used to wash their pills down from the bathroom faucet all the time.

I've never heard of anyone not drinking bathroom water. I drink from all faucets in my house.
