The first signs of civilization and stable living patterns appeared around 10,000 BC with the Jōmon culture, characterized by a mesolithic to neolithic semi-sedentary hunter-gatherer lifestyle of wood stilt house and pit dwelling and a rudimentary form of agriculture. Weaving was still unknown and clothes were often made of bark. Bear worship was common, as many place names still today have the word "kuma" (bear) in them.

Australia, New Zealand and America are all sufficiently distant from other land masses that they could be 'discovered' (Obviously they were first discovered by the Aborigines, Maoris and Native Americans respectively). Japan was already inhabited by Mongoloid people and was known by reputation for centuries, because of it's proximity to the rest of Asia, where the West already traded. You could say the moment of 'discovery' by the West was when the West forced Japan into a trading agreement in 1864. Prior to that Japan had an attitude of exclusion and all foreign trade was forbidden.

The Japanese were the first inhabitants and it didn't need discovering - it was there all the time. If you mean when did the Europeans first becaome aware of it then that would be the Portuguese explorers, Marco Polo, Magellan etc.

The Japanese, by definition.
All three of the countries you mentioned already had people living there when they were conveniently 'discovered'.
Maybe I should 'discover' your car, and drive it home.

That civilisation was in contact with mainland Asia so it was not discovered by Europeans. I take it you are looking from Europe.
