Your cycle is counted from the first day of one period to the first day of the second. It could range anywhere from 25 days approx, to 35 days. 28 days is about average.

I've been wondering this as well.

When I first got my period at age 11, almost 22 years ago (man I feel old), I was told in health class and by other women that you count from the last day of your period up to 28 and that is when your next period should start.

Count from the first day it starts, so that would be 28 days (4 weeks) from Day One.

count 26 to 28 days from the first day of your cycle. if you are around alot of different women there cycles can play tricks on yours... example..i could set a clock with mine..by 6am on the 26th day. then, i started working with a woman the has very irregular cycles, and mine jumped the tracks. then, another woman came to work with us, and then i started having 2 a month, then, sometimes it will go 2 to 3 weeks over the time expected. i went to the OB, and she said, "we all go through changes"...now, both of the women i work with are on birth control (to straighten their cycles out), and my body is trying to stay with both of them!!!! (rolling my eyes) GREAT!!
eventually, it will work out!

well, it really depends on who you are. I say its when ever the moon goes in cycle again because it has a huge effect on when we get it. when ever there is a full moon.
