As Americans we have no responsibilty because we are not in control anyways. Sure we vote, petition, and attend political functions, but when you think about it, how much is really in our hands?
Did I ask for this war...NO... but I, as an individual, can be responsible for my own actions and what I do to better this country. I don't just vote to vote, I research what I am voting for. And if I feel that I have not gathered enough information to make an informed descision, THEN I DO NOT VOTE! Because I have the ability to, doesn't mean I will. So I as an American can only take responsibility for MY OWN ACTIONS. That's it.

What are you talking about, "Why is it that you as a bleeding heart puke liberal" have to lump all Americans into one category.
I know many Americans who take responsibility for their own actions.
Tell you what march your butt over to whatever place you want us to take responsibility for and you speak for "We as Americans" taking responsibility. Let see how long it takes for your head to get separated from your body by these wonderful people. Go on I'll book your flight.

I don't think the people of other countries take responsibility for their own actions either. Let's see here.......France....um, no....history shows that. Germany.....um....no....up til a few years ago they were still teaching their kids in school that the holocaust never happened. I could go on and on all day and still not even get all the nationalities in. The point is, we are all ust human, make mistakes and whether or not we take responsibility is up to our OWN person.

America takes more responsibility for its actions than any nation in the world. We are at times too self-critical.

Because shows and people like Oprah encourage the cult of victimization. It's not my fault I can't make a good living -- it's society opressing me, or that I was abused as a child, or it's just plain not fair to expect me to get off my fat *** and work at anything. This is, of course, reinforced by the extreme version of political correctness we see in schools -- elementary all the way up through universities. It's not your fault if you can't spell or add, you must have ADD -- let's give you some drugs and put you in special ed. We don't want to give kids low self-esteem so let's not give them Fs, better yet, let's not give them grades at all, nor expect them to step up to the plate and actually learn. No one's stupid, they're just challenged, or abused by their parents, or in need of medical attention.

Bah! I hate this with a passion.

Not me. I take responsibility for my own actions. Great power comes with great responsibility. That's what my uncle Wolf always tell me.

Because if our president doesnt take responsibility for his own actions, then why should we?? Its easy to pin the fault on someone else.

For one, why don't you speak for yourself? Why lump everyone together? You don't know if I take responsibilty for my actions or not, nor can you speak for all Americans.
