I heard on Sky Sports News that John Terry had swallowed his tongue after receiving that kick in the face, but had regained consciousness and been back to the stadium. This is very good news becasue nobody likes to see a player getting injured. The response of the players and physios from both clubs, probably stopped something more serious from happening.
Now to the other question. I don't think they are the best team ever...yet.
They haven't won the European Cup/Champions League (Madrid have won it 9 times, Liverpool the most frequent winners of the British clubs, 5 times). This is the acid test of greatness - winning the world's premier club competition and then carrying on winning it.
However, their progress over the past 4 years suggests that they are in line for greatness. They have extraordinary financial backing, and as long as Roman Abramovic is there to sign the cheques, the big names will keep coming.
What they need to do is make sure that they sign particular players because they need them, and not because transfers have become a PR thing. To progress, you need a blend of star names, and some 'water carriers.' As Madrid have shown, a team packed full of 'galacticos' doesn't necessarily work.
They have now won the Premiership twice, for the first time in 50 years; and have just today, picked up some silverware for this season. Some monkeys are now off their backs. I don't think they will retain the Premiership this season, but they are looking good to win the Champions League.
The reason being is that Schevchenko is coming into form, and is starting to look settled. He might not be entirely suited to English football, but he is certainly at home in the Champions League. With his nous and guile in the team, they might well win the trophy come May...if they are fully FOCUSED ON WINNING.

Apparently John Terry made it back to the stadium soon after Lampard lifted the trophy. That's excellent news for Chelsea + England because it looked a horrible accident. As for Chelsea being the best team ever, That's completely subjective, but with the amount of great national and club sides in history the chances are that they are not.

right now, you can make an arguement. but theres an up and coming team from the heart of England. And its in Manchester. Not Manchester United but Manchester City. Just wait, they'll be on top soon.
I must be the only Man City fan in the west coast, everyone is bandwagoners and root for Man U or Arsenal or Chealsea

Of course not. Not even close. They couldn't dominate a team with an average age of 21.5. My "young Gunners" made me proud and convinced me that we'll once again have the League title next season. I agreed with all three red cards and the two yellows. I haven't heard anything about Terry. I hope he's not seriously hurt. He was speaking being carried off the field so that's a good sign. I'd guess bad whiplash and/or a fairly severe concussion. He was out for the count before he hit the ground and for several minutes after that.
