There are no stupid questions. Why should anyone care if you have deemed their question unworthy?

Nothing. What's stupid to you obviously isn't stupid to them, so whatever. Let them be. Just be thankful that you aren't that stupid and move on. "Stupidity" is based on opinion. There is no need to impose your opinions on them

what a good question?
first when they ask change the subject
second say "I'm sorry what did you say"
if he is smart he well think in his question
but if he did not
then ask him the same question
if he did not understand what the wrong
tell him what he is doing wrong in really calm way
by whispering
only him can hear you
don't yell
don't say any joke

Just tell them in a kind way. Don't tell them in a mean way!! Or else you might lose your relationship with that person.

Flat out tell them - if they're dumb enough to do something stupid, they'e too dumb to recognize someone tactfully telling them they're doing something stupid.
