My doctor told me that I was probably getting my yeast infection from a bad diet, eating too many carbs... well ive never heard of this and it seems like there should be a better reason. Can you really get yeast infections from your diet?

I'm not sure that your doctor meant that you are getting the infections from your diet, but your diet may be making your body chemistry such that yeast infections have an easier time establishing themselves. Eating yogurt has two pluses - it is acidic (like the vagina) and it has live active cultures (helpful bacteria) that take up the space that yeast might instead.

I have heard that some people use plain, no sugar yogurt topically to treat yeast infections. You might want to research that a bit before you try it though!

Has he been checked at all for juvenile diabetes? The bad stools, infections, and smell could all be from having his sugars badly out of whack. I would get a new pediatrician or a 2nd opinion-if your little one is extremely tired or thirsty alot, you REALLY need to get the sugar checked-I am a nurse and these same symptoms happened to my friends little girl. Good luck to you-get a doctor that will find out the answer to the problem.

Sad, but true. A diet high in sugars and carbs (which convert to sugar) can throw off the bacterial balance. So much for chowing down on Easter candy!
