I have tried al of the cleaning and scrubing supplies. Nothing has worked. Is there a way to paint over the rust areas. Or have you taken care of a problem like this?

Did you try a cleanser called "ZUD"? We used that when we had extremely high iron water, and it worked great.

There's another product called CLR Clear that is for calcium, lime & rust, and I've used it with much success.

They do sell an enamel paint for touch-ups on tubs, but I'm not sure how good it is.

There are kits available for refinishing the tub. You would want to make sure that you used a good quality primer first to prevent rust from penetrating through the new paint. The best thing, easiest and cheapest, to do is to get rid of the rust. You do not need any chemicals, just some sandpaper. Get some 600 grit wet sandpaper. Get the sandpaper damp. Rub the rust in the tub, it will come off.

There are products that are specifically made to remove rust stains. They have some on the website www.corrosionconnection.com. Look under the boats - rust section and there are products to get rid of rust stains!

Get a bottle of "CLR" calcium, lime & rust remover. It is a mild acid and will chemically dissolve the rust.
