Matt took Maria to his secret hallway. They were spying on Tom and Felicia and they heard Felicia confess that she murdered Furball and that she is addicted to laudanum.

Matt finds out when he wants to meet Maria by the lotus pond. He said that he kidnapped Furball and if she ever wanted him back, she had to meet him there. But he doesn't find Maria. Her father comes and tells him the bad news.
