Our country most certainly was NOT founded on Christianity. It was founded on the idea of separation of church and state, with NO official state religion, so that each person would be free to choose whatever religion or spiritual belief system rings true for them, OR to choose no religion at all, if THAT rings true for them.!!!!!
Thumbs up to Abdul Hassan! Great answer!!!!! Thanks!!!!

Actually, one of the primary principals in the founding of the United States was freedom of relgious expression. That's why the separation of church and state is essential, so that government can not mandate relgious belief and observation. So your premise that the US was founded on Christianity is not accurate.
And are you also against such "liberal" concepts as civil rights, or do you think that God preferred our country when we had laws that prevented people from voting, from owning property, from drinking from the same drinking fountain?
If you want to discuss the pros and cons of some of the issues that you describe as "liberals getting their way," that might be a more interesting discussion, provided that you are able to open your mind to the possibility that other people may have valid points, even if they don't agree with you. But your closing statement, that "God will not continue to bless our nation, if we continue to listen to the democrats and go against him" implies that your mind is already closed and you have no interest in actually thinking.
I am curious, though, how you drew your conclusion. Has God spoken to you and told you that He will not continue to bless us if we "listen to" our elected representatives if they are Democrats? Is God a registered Republican? Even if He was, I think that He would be a more thoughtful and sophisticated voter, getting information and making an informed choice, rather than dismissing an idea because it came from a "liberal."

Reading some of these answers it's amazing how so many americans don't know the history of their country. The United States indeed has it's foundation on judeo-christian principles but don't always live by those principles. There are a group of people who want an anything goes society, mainly those on the far left. Then there are those who want a nation that's similar to a theocracy, mainly on the far right. There will never be a perfect nation in this world. Neither democrats nor republicans, or any other party can make it so. Only in the kingdom of God, for those who believe, will there be perfection.

The liberals and the democrats just don't get it , do they?
...They don't get an honest presidential and congressional election, of that is what you are referring to.
YOU wrote:
...our country was founded on Christianity...
....You are totally incorrect! Get it! Wrong. The founding fathers were DIESTS. Read about them on the internet. It is a profound error on your part.
We have always been the greatest nation on earth
....Greatest biutchers, murderers. We had slaughtered 70 mi9llion native Americans for no reaosn at all. We did likewise on many other occasions, inclduing now.
if you have noticed , whenever the liberals start getting their way , such as, abortion, gay marriage , taking prayer out of school , our quality of life starts going downhill .
....WRONG facts. Everything you take advantage of in life is due to a liberal agenda in congress.

Amendment I - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
This isn't just to protect Christianity. This is protecting freedom of any religion. There should be a clear separation of church and state. The Democrats are not devils in disguise. Plus seriously, without referring to faith, prove to me that God exists in the first place. Come on. I'm waiting.

Our nation was founded on FAITH - Christianity was the faith of choice only because the ones founding this country were of the Christian faith. They came here so they would be allowed to express their religious beliefs freely - without the interference of the government. So if OUR government interfered with the religious beliefs of those in this country, it would be no better than the ones that were the reason for this country coming into existance.
Our government is based on the belief in FAITH. Faith is what the word "God" in our government documents is an expression of faith, not that we are only a Christian nation. They used the word "God" because it can also be used as an expression of any higher being (Buddah, Muhammad, etc.). Being so narrow-minded is only going to spell the doom of this nation and it's greatness.
You have the right to believe what you choose to. And you have the right to your opinions. But you have NO right to force those beliefs upon another, and therefore, you can't state with certainty that abortion, gay marriage, prayer out of schools, etc is the beginning of the end. It is your belief, and that is fine. But you can't force your beliefs on everyone, and for that reason, all of those things will continue. . .
Signed,
A Christian Woman that happens to believe in accepting EVERYONE for who/what they are without judgement.
PS - I also believe that there was something stated about passing judgement over others. See, there is only one being that is qualified to pass judgement. If all of these things are in fact wrong, then those that practice them will pay in the end. What is it your worry for??? You aren't qualified to judge others, so stop.

Our country was not founded on Christianity. Most of our founders were Deists, not christian. Christian values permeate our society, but we definitely knew better then to have our country be a religious one.
We fought for independence from a Church-State.
As for the other crap, that's all it is. If GOD is so powerful, then you don't need all these secular things supporting him.
Stop letting your religion interfere with common sense.
If you support Bush and the GOP, it is clear that you don't get it. You silly little people have no facts just rhetoric to explain your silly little ideas.

That is exactly what fudamentalist Muslims say "Everything has to have God in it". Look at them! Jefferson and Franklin were deists and they never specified Christianity in the Constitution. It applies to everybody who believes in a Supreme being and most Democrats are Christians. Conservatives like you are pathetic.

You are wrong.
America was NOT IN ANY WAY founded on Christianity. Some founding fathers were Christian, some were Deist, it really doesn't matter. What does matter is that America has FREEDOM OF RELIGION and FREEDOM FROM RELIGION.
You are NOT the greatest country on Earth. There's better quality of life and culture in Europe and Australia, larger millitaries in North Korea and China, better economy and technology in Japan, better food EVERYWHERE.
In Europe we have abortion, gay marriage, and no prayer in scvhools and we're FINE. We're not being punished by God, neither will you. Please PLEASE get this into your head.

Legandivo, why would you want to live in a country that has committed such atrocities.
You should move to a country that has no blood on its hands, if you can find one. I'd be happy to pay your moving expenses.
