Masturbation - bad or good?

People say it's normal and everyone does it, OK, but in my eyes it seems really dirty that someone does that kind of thing... So what do you all think? And why? (It's a thought and question that haunts me...)

If you think that it's dirty, there is a very good chance that a parent or babysitter punished you for masturbating when you were young. Now it's just a repressed memory that has left you with this terrible feeling.

The only people who tell you it is bad are religious people, whose ideas about masturbation come from some people thousands of years ago who had no understanding of the effects of testosterone on humans.

No God would tell you that masturbation is bad. God created our sex drives. It's a drive, like hunger, so it is totally normal. Killing, lying and cheating are real sins because they can be avoided. Drives are built into humans to keep us alive and continue the species.

Although masturbation does not actually continue the species, it is the normal response to not satisfying our sex drive through intercourse. In other words, if we can't have sex with another person, we are still driven to have sex with ourselves. It's just how we are designed. Unlike the real sins, it CANNOT be avoided. When people try to, they end up thinking about sex all the time anyway, which is why religious fanatics spend an inordinate amount of time focused on sex and ways to not think about it (ways which never work!!).

You need to understand that you were designed to want sex and the best thing is to admit that you want it and masurbate. If you need help in this area, there are books which you can get which will guide you through body self-exploration.

Just remember that somebody who had sexual hangups put this idea in your head. Do something about it so that you don't pass the same ideas to your own children.

Your body is not dirty and you can touch any part of your body that you want to. When I was pregnant with my first child, I found that there is nothing wrong with finding out what is going on with your own body. The nurses kept talking about my dilation, so finally i felt and could feel the babies head. After that, with my next 3 children, believe me, I always knew what was going on because felt down there. Having sex is a beautiful thing as is masturbating and satisfying yourself. I think women that do masturbate have a much higher rate of climaxes and are more relaxed during sex. Your body is beautiful and you should know as much as possible about you own body as you can. I'm a 60 yr old woman and that's what I think! I hope this has helped you.

when you are so disturbed and feel guilty then why do it in the first place.There is nothing wrong in doing some thing which makes you feel happy and good ,But you see doing it on a regular basis that is 2 or 3 time a week is bad for health and puts stress on the mind and it also weakens the nerves ,its natural for any teenager to find things about their body and themselves and the pleasures they can derive when they want it with or without the help of a partner.So go ahead and feel free and do what you like the most .Be your self. I think it's GREAT. It's natural, healthy, and feels good. I don't see why anyone would think it's dirty, as long as you wash your hands after. It allows people to be less dependent on others for their sexual pleasure.

it really isn't a terrible thing to do, i think you are too paranoid. if it was totally nasty, why would people do it? it's not like you're gonna see that happen anywhere in public. calm down, if you don't like it you don't have to do it. it's a personal preference and you shouldn't care if other people do it.
