because of child labor laws, most employers tend to shy away from workers under the age of 16. however, there are some places that are willing to work around that. some places that come to mind are McDonald's and Burger King. But there are all kinds of limits on what you are allowed to do at a job, how long you can work depending on if it's a day preceding school summer break, and how many hours a weak you can work period.

I think that the child labor laws prohibit someone your age from working in anything but a job like babysitting, mowing lawns, etc. I live in Michigan, and I know from having a teenage daughter, she couldn't legally work until she turned 16 and then she could only work 18 hours a week while still attending school. My suggestion to you would be to ask your school counselor what the work restrictions are in your state and go from there. Sorry, but I think you will just have to tough it out for a couple more years.

Its hard to find jobs at age 14. Most job qualiifcations are age 16 and up. You could work for a family friend at their store or something. Im sure there are some jobs that 14 year olds can do. You could work as a swimming instructor or life guard, at a local swimming pool. To find a job, you really need some luck too.

You have many options. First though you must get a work permit. Once you have that you can work as a bus boy in a restaraunt, you can work in a daycare, you can work for a bingo parlor. These are jobs I did from the time I was 14 till I was 16 and old enough to get the real deal. If you lived in iowa you could work the fields in the summer. I would suggest you call your local workforce development agency, they should be able to help you out.

Sorry but most states have laws making it very hard if not impossible to hire 14 or 15 year olds. I'm trying to convince my boss to hire my 15 year old brother but he wont because of government restriction.
