Which is better under mount or drop in sinks?

We are having granite countertops installed and I would like opinions on which is better AND why.
I have heard some complaints that with under mount sinks-bacteria can grow between the two.

Drop in sinks.

I sell faucets and mixers. Bacteria can grow between the counter and the sink in both cases, you must just get it siliconed in properly. I personally prefer the under counter because it looks nicer and easier to keep clean.
