baby has been 'held' in your womb for almost 10 months....already used to it, they need it....it's a scientific fact, babies who are left without human touch wither and die....

They get used to it in the womb! If your arms are tired, use a sling so your arms can be free. Babies need to be carried almost all the time. In Indonesia, babies are held until they are three months old, then they have a "ground-touching" ceremony. Of course, in Bali, all the baby's relatives live very close, so there are lots of hands available, but the sling was a lifesaver for me. Some days my second child went into the sling in the morning and only came out for diaper changes!

It sounds like you're trying to hold a newborn that's fussing a bit. The best thing you can do is take a deep breath and relax. Hold the baby gently, and just relax. Babies pick up our nerves... so if you're nervous about holding it, it's going to pick up on it.

Fake the calm if you have to, but fake it well... soon you'll be on track.

Perhaps there is something wrong with the child if they are not used to being held. Perhaps the child has autism.

"Autistic infants often shrink from touch. Instead of cuddling when picked up, they may go limp or stiffen..."

babies demand to be held from birth! they don't have to "get used to it".

You should hold your baby as much as possible, especially when they're small.
