Meaning you order a combo meal and they charge for an extra drink. Or you get a "choose your side at no extra cost" and they charge you full price for the alternate item even when you remind them that it is included. When disputing it with the manager in an attempt to get your money back, they are uncooperative. Or even if the manager on duty is ringing you up, they still charge extra for an included item.

Alot of restaurants over charge if you don't catch it. Its like the prices are negotiable. Some of the over-charging is by cashier error or mistake some is not. Not to pick out Mexican restaurants, but it seems i pay more then the price on the menu from what i ordered...sometimes there's a setup fee sometimes not...its almost like buying a car it seems...Some fast food places change the prices too location...like say a Burger King they raise there prices if they are in an area where there are alot of truckers to make money...like ordering pizza, some places will charge you for delivery some wont...it's all about money. If they rip you off bad enough don't go there any more. Majority of restaurants don't make it their first year anyhow...its a tough business.

Because they get away with it! Don't let them. You don't have to spend an inordinate amount of time and effort to get some satisfaction. If the manager is uncooperative than ask who his manager is. Usually a large chain will have an 800 number or a website where you can complain. Use these as a last resort though, because you really want to talk to someone in person if you can. If it's on a week-end, save your receipt, call on a week day or if possible go back and complain to a different manager. Sometime the week-end managers are really only assistant managers. The real manager will be working on the week-days in a lot of places.

Always make sure you don't yell or throw a fit that's way out of proportion to the offense. You will get much better results if you keep your voice even and pleasant. They will be off guard. Tell them the you want to come back and this is why you are complaining. Let them know that by telling them you are not satisified or they have done something wrong you are giving them an opportunity to keep a loyal customer.

They do it because they can get away with it....so many of their employees are either foreign born or high school age people, and just don't always have the smarts to do the arithmetic. They just automatically ring up what they hear, without looking at the deals you describe, and too bad for the customer. Managers are there to make a profit and stay in business, and to them, you have to prove that they are wrong. Best wishes

Only if you let them. If you are right then speak up if you don't then it is going to keep happening. Call there Main Office if you feel as if you were cheated and lodge a complaint. They will be more willing to listen. And they really do appreciate the calls because they cannot police all there restaurants.

Because they can. Here in America, many, many people are addicted to (and yes IT IS addicting) fast food, and the owners of the companies know that. Just like someone who is addicted to cigarettes will continue to pay for them no matter how many taxes we put on them, people who are addicted to fast food will continue to pay high prices no matter what.
