The Government and the military. Why do we take things for granted in believing in the government?

Make sure to vote whenever possible, whether its a local or national election. Also call, or email your people in power, and tell them what you think. Then you will not be taking things for granted.

I feel the military are just the puppets of Government whims. It seems to me like the Government is calling all the shots without consulting the people. Lying, cheating nothing is beyond the Government anymore to get their way.
I take for granted that the Government is doing the right thing and then I see things like: the war in Iraqi>weapons of mass destruction that didn't exist
the Monica Lewinski scandal
and so many more.

You can't trust someone that has lied to you. And we have been lied to repeatedly by our leaders.
I am more likely to believe the military than the president right now. And that isn't saying much of anything other than GW is a huge liar, even putting the military to shame.

Simply because the Government is doing what the public needs....You may not agree on all of it, I don;t...but it is all done, in our best interests. Also, you are only seeing what the Liberals and the Media want you to see and hear.
Of course there are secrets and Black Projects, but they are needed, for security reasons.
Sit back and relax...basically, you are in good hands...Better than most other countries.

It's hard to trust the government because you only see what the media wants you to see. If you saw everything they are doing... first you would be over whelmed with information, second it would be easier to trust what they are attempting to do. The liberal democrats don't want this because they would lose support.

The government is so clandestine in so many things, many people in the U.S. DO NOT have much trust in it. Would you trust someone who is doing things supposedly in the interest of the people, but keep you in the dark, and tell you only what they think you want to hear?

They have conned the American people into believing they are looking after them. The analogy is lemmings following the leader from a high cliff. The Democrats are guilty of it too, but on a lesser scale.
