Thankfully no I didn't. But it was because the things in the person I was seeing just got to be too overwhelming to deal with. Now I'm with the most wonderful person I could imagine. I wouldn't call it an all consuming love because that makes the rest of my life seem a little empty but I couldn't imagine not being with him now.

It is foolish to just 'settle'....even if the 'consumimng love' does not come along, there is no law demanding you have to be an item. By all means have lots of friends....and enjoy! But do not fall for the 'I'm not normal if I don't have a special one'
If it happens (it did with me) well, that is great. But your values is not determined by your partner (or lack of)

No. The man I married is my be-all, end-all. I think he's the perfect man, and even what's imperfect about him is adorable. Plus, unlike Carrie's Mr. Big, my husband is faithful, kind, and SURE that he wants to be committed to me!
If I'd married the guy I dated before my husband, now, that would have been "settling" for someone who was less that I wanted. But luckily that fellow showed his true (manipulative, immature) colors before we got married!

I settled. Then a woman came along that I feel deeply in love with. I shouldn't have settled.

what ever you do dont just settle for a bloke get one that you know can only get better and that will grow and grow and when you keep looking at them you get like nervous and you get the butterflies like if you just settle with someone more that likely there prob be domestic violence because you dont love one another your just settleing with it. sorry if i have been a bit useless
