My vote is "Shakespeare in Love." Not a horrible movie, but certainly not Oscar-worthy.

My first choice would have to be Rocky which beat out (amazingly) Taxi Driver and All the Presidents Men. The only reason this could have happened is because of the bisentenial .But a close second choice goes to "Chariots of Fire" which won over Raiders of the Lost Arc and On Golden Pond.

I'm gonna have to go with "Rocky." A sad day for America there.

actual, actual, actual. i think of Ledger's overall performance replace into super, yet i don't think of he would have gained the Oscar if he replace into nonetheless alive, they gave it to him because of the fact they have been stupid sufficient to not provide it to him for his overall performance in Brokeback Mountain. yet yet another action picture that replace into robbed; Crash prevailing desirable action picture particularly of Brokeback Mountain, WTF? I agree on the subject of the Pianist, that's oftentimes weird and wonderful whilst somebody wins desirable director (Polanski) however the action picture they directed would not get desirable image. Imao The Departed gained because of the fact the Academy, as quickly as returned, did not provide awards to the splendid human beings whilst they actually deserved them. They denied Scorsese on a super sort of events (Taxi motive force, Raging Bull, Goodfellas and so on...), they desperate to grant the awards to The Departed to make up for their misgivings besides the fact that it replace right into a mediocre action picture. yet, yeah i consider you ;)

Gladiator--not a bad film, but not worthy of Best Picture in my opinion.

The Pianist. A soapy cliche directed by a pedophile.

Rocky. Tell you the truth, that is the only movie that I thought should have gave way to something else.
