Thank you for wanting to get a filter for your fish, but a bowl isn't the proper container for a fish anyway. You didn't mention what kind of fish you have, but, if you have a betta, you should have a minimum of a 2.5 gallon container with a heater and a filter. If you have a goldfish, you should have a minimum of 10 gallons of water per fish and a filter that pumps 10x the amount of water as the size of the tank. If you have tropicals, well, that depends on what type of fish you have and how many you have, but most likely, a 10 gallon would be great as well. In Europe, bowls are outlawed because they are cruel. Someday maybe America will follow. I, personally don't think fish should be kept in anything less than 10 gallons of water. Even with a good filter and a decent sized tank, you will have to do weekly water changes. If you aren't ready to commit to the proper care of a fish, maybe you need to think about not having one. Read these articles on how to do proper water changes, how to clean a tank and siphon the gravel and your water will be a lot clearer and healthier for the fish. Good luck!

I don't know of a good filter system that will eliminate or even reduce the need to change water often on "a small fish bowl." Problem is, under gravel filters work on bacteria that takes several weeks to mature. You don't have that much time in a fish bowl.

I think you're stuck until you move on to a larger tank, say at least ten gallons.

There arent any reliable filters for bowls, and plus a bowl isnt big enough for any fish.
I would get a tank. And you will have to still change water, just not as often

Even with a filter you must do water changes for the health of your fish. Anything under 5 gallons is difficult to cycle, IMO.

yeah. you can't get some petty good ones that sit under the gravel in the tank. just go to your local pet shop.
