They should build a team like the Sabres have. Rental players are not part of a team and a sad part of hockey. The sabres have 8 minor league players on thier roster and are still playing great. How much longer untill Hasek is out for the season AGAIN?

I disagree that the Wings ever bought a championship or any team ever has. They have to play hard to win a Cup, but anyway, since you think that statement is true... The days of 'buying' a championship are over due to the salary cap. They don't have a prayer anyway??? They are 2nd in the NHL right now. The Wings top scorer, Zetterberg, is 27 years old. If you think 27 is old you must be what, 10 years old? Jealous are we?

Actually the Wings have a lot of cap room to all those that say they didn't, and as far as the implication that the Wings buy there cups, that is a joke. They are one of the best organizations in hockey for replenishing there system from within. Lidstrom, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, were all 4th round or later picks, so don't be hating because they hire good scouts.
And as far as the original question, I think they are trying to shop Datsyuk to bring in a power type forward, and if Shanahan had not got hurt, the Rangers would have traded him to the Wings by now.

Not sure of anyone by a name but Detroit could make a move to beef up 2-3rd lines but if they make a move it could be to add a bit of depth to the d-men. Big D will win championships and having the extra D-man in case of a late season injury or playoff injury is the greatest (and smartest ) move a team in Detroit's position can make. Perhaps a veteran D-man would be a good insurance policy?

HAHA NOO! sshueman! I wanted to make the Gordie Howe joke! haha But yeah they'll bring back Gordie Howe, he has a history of playing when he was old. He last played in the NHL when he was what? 52? Then played in the IHL when he was 70! Wow he was incredible too. He should play now hehe .. He's around 79? Gordie Howe was a God.
