If i put a mirror up to my betta fish's tank he flares.i know this is normal,but do you know the part on his face that puffs out when he sees another betta?only his left one puffs out.the other one stays normal.is there something wrong with my betta?

Not really. It may be that he has a birth defect or something like that, but it's not necessarily a problem for him. He can live a healthy, normal life without both cheeks puffing. He's not sick or defective, he's just different.

no, everything is fine. i myself hav a betta fish who also does that occasionally. i found out that sometimes their gills get tired and only have energy for one cheek to puff out. don't worry a thing, your betta should be fine!

p.s. don't put the mirror up to his tank often b/c sometimes they get so angry so often and they die of anxiety. that happened to a friend of mine.

its normal my betta does that too he puffs looks at his glass side and swims right into it trying to kill his refeltion lol





P.S he doesnt hurt his self :OP
