you did not mention if you have a modem/router combo or a dsl modem and then a router...

it should be
you dsl line ( unfiltered phone line ) to the rj11 port of the dslmodem ( it will say phone in ), from there a cat5 patch cable ( usually 3 feet or so ) to the WAN port of the router ( this assumes you have your power supply allready plugged in ), from there 1 cat5 patch cable to the computer ( not the lap top )

from the computer ( not the lap top ) type in 192.168.1.1 in the web browser to access the router
you see a place for the account logon
fill in the info
turn on the wireless
set your wireless key
exit out
your set up should be working

BTW i just did the search for the zytel 600 modem and it's NOT wireless
so you need to either get a wireless dsl/modem/router combo
or
buy a seperate wireless router ( linksys )

It sounds like there is a problem, but I am not familiar with this type of router. but you did say that you pluged the phone line into the router, the problem is that there is no phone line in a router, what you need is a modem to plug the wire into and then useing an ethernet cable plug that from the modem into the router. Most internet providers give you this modem when you turn on the service, which brings up the next question do you actually have an internet provider or did you get on the internet with your computer before by pluging the phone cable into the back of the computer. Until I find these questions out I can't help you.

Have you followed the instructions?....

http://www.mobiletel.com/dsl/instructions/Full%20Install%20DSL%20ethernet.pdf

Step1. Change “Dial Up” settings to never dial a connection:
• Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
• Double click Internet Options.
• Click On Connections tab at the top of the window.
• Click on “never dial a connection”
Step 2. Put the filters on your phones, making sure not to put a filter on the DSL Modem.
Please refer to the image provided in the instructions to hook up filters.
Step 3. Plug the Modem power supply into the wall, plug the power supply cord into the
Modem. Plug the cross-connect cables into the modem and the PC. Turn on the
Modem.
Step 4. When the ADSL green light stops blinking and stays on all the time, re-boot the
computer.
Step 5. You should now be able to surf the Internet.

This may also help in the configuration....

Open your browser, and type http://192.168.1.1
You should be able to input the default username (which I believe is) "admin" and password "1234"

You should now be able to configure your settings.
