i didnt get what kind of buisness the dad was in with all those movies and why it was such a big deal for those guys to get the movie "heaven can wait"

The dad was an accountant for a mob boss. He was a movie buff and had a large collection that he used to hide the cd containing the mob bosses financial records within the Heaven Can Wait case. The mob boss was afraid that the FBI would find the disc and use it to prosecute him, so he kidnapped the local sheriff's family to force him to get the disc first. The guys in the house were just local losers who picked the wrong house.
The book by Robert Crais was much better than the movie.

He worked at a software company and was smuggling software out.. That is why they wanted "Heaven Can Wait" it was a specific program they wanted. It is on right now on Encore Mysteries eastern time

heavn can wait was just the cd cover. inside of it was some illegal buisness he was doing. I don't know what kind of buisness he was doing but it was illegal.
