Some beings just *are* popular and successful. I expect they like it very much, or perhaps they just take it as their due.

Some beings are not, and I think they are probably very hurt by it.

Some beings just have charisma and charm and a pleasing personaility in spades, and some people, however nice they may be if you got to know them properly, just don't come across well.

I think everyone should try as hard as they can to try to be nicer to the less attractive, less charming, less socially able people. There is nothing worse than social exclusion.

I presume we're talking human "beings" here. I don't feel qualified to comment on other species.
