Yes, it seems akward to mention that it is your birthday to adults. They don't seem to have the same excitement as kids do. This year I was sick on my birthday, had to spend 3 hours in a walk in clinic. Not to mention I was away from my family and friends, and they left voice msgs on my machine but I wasn't able to speak with any of them. I also had to teach, and it was one of the worst days that I experienced.. I was hoping it would be fun but I was disappointed.

I'm sorry if your friends or loved ones do not seem to care anymore. Do like I do -- I plan a week off to celebrate my birthday. If the kids want to come along fine; if not, I'm celebrating by myself. Last year, I went to Vegas, and I'm happy to say that my children came along. The year before that, I went to Hawaii and my daughter came with me for a few days. This year, it's either the Caribbean cruise or South Pacific.
Don't let the world pull you down - go and celebrate you.

My worst birthday was just under 2 years ago. (My birthday's this Wednesday.) My ex fiance was living with me and working for DirecTV at the time. He had the morning off for whatever reason, and upon waking up, I found him on the computer playing games and then asking me to make breakfast for him. I did, but only because I was hungry, and ended up not even getting an effin "happy birthday" from him.
This year should be alot better...my bf of 3 months is getting me a pair of Justin Boots and after we order those, we're going back to his place for some of his amazing BBQ. (Can't wait...lol)

This year I had a terrible birthday. I had the flu all day so I spent most of my day in bed dying, and then when I had just started feeling better, I got to go grocery shopping. Where I bought my self a pie, and took it home to share with my husband and two kids. So yeah, I had a bad birthday.

As u r above 18, It is on u to enjoy ur Birthday Party and arrange it urself.
U r not no a kid that ur Mum/Dad will celeberate Ur birthday Party.
U have ur own Circle/Friends.....
So, U could not say a BAD Birthday,
But it is on u urself that how ur birthday would be good enough.

I celebrate my own birthday and don't expect anything from anyone else. My 3 kids usually call me to wish me a happy and my daughter used to make me these awesome birthday posters. But other than that, it's just another day although to me, it is a special day for me and to me ONLY. So no, I never have a bad one.

I've had a couple of "bad'' birthdays. My grandmother died on one of them, and the last 'bad" one, I was in a near-fatal car accident and I'm lucky to be alive! Hey, things can get worse than a ride to the mall, honey, believe me! YES...kids are rotten! But...you can celebrate with yourself and be grateful for the things you do have in this life.

Well, if you put it off, treat as not important, as you say, so will others. I'd rather others treat me well and special every day as opposed to only 1 day a year. No wonder you're disappointed.

what is a birthday, really? The day you were born. friends celebrate it with you because they enjoy being your friend. otherwise, it's just a way to mark time. personally, i don't like having the fuss made, especially gifts.
