Depends on how you define African-American. I once coached an African-American girl for softball here in America. She was born and raised in Africa. However, she was white, with blonde hair and blue eyes. The land where a person is born means nothing. It is the person's parents that make up the child skin color, eye color, etc.

Of course. It is all genetics. My grandfather had blue-gray eyes and look more caucasian. My sister has green-hazel eyes. My mom and all her sisters had caucasian hair. My heritage is English, Cherokee and African. Therefore I carry these genes. The dominant ones will rule (brown eyes, brown hair, etc.) but I still carry genes where an offspring could go back and have caucasian features manifest themselves.. Of course, some blacks are wearing contact lenses to alter their eye color. You can tell what is real and what isn't.

First I object to the term African-American, Black American is more appropriate. YES, to your answer. Black Americans have other heritages other than African. In my case I have a cousin who is Black American and has NATURAL blond hair and green eyes, YES she was born that way. The genes from other heritages can crop up way down the gene line.

Yes they can. Who in the U.S. is all black except for the Africians who come over here to work and attend our schools. We have been mixed with various races since we were brought over here that blue eyes is not impossible. My Great grandmother was full blooded Shishoni Indian. Both of my grandfathers were half white thus my parents have white in them. I bet if you were to trace your ancestery you would probally have some black in you too.
Remember Thomas Jefferson, slave owner, President of the U.S. and father of little black babies?

I've seen it, though it is rare.

It usually takes 2-3 generations of mixing to do it though. Usually, they have the usual boring 2 possibilities of brown or black (same with their hair).

This is possible if they are mixed with white. My cousin has blue eyes. Her mom is white and her dad is black.
