When I bought my car it was in excellent condition, except the hood needed repainted. The hood still has the paint on it but some spots are faded and missing paint. It does not have any clear coat on it right now, it is just the paint. What is the best way to remove the paint that is on it.

I would block sand it with 320 to cut the paint down evenly and get it ready for a new coat.

Go to a quality paint supply house and get a durablock and some stickback paper talk to the guy behind the counter he will tell you what you need to buy

I would look in the phone book for a Sand Blaster. Pretty much they will blast everything away on the hood to the metal. Keeping it from rusting in the future and making your hood look fantastic!
