I think the older you get it becomes harder to find a date, because you want it to last, and you became more picky. In my twenties I went out with guys just for the hell of it, knowing it wouldn't last, the soon as you get to about the forty mark you want to settle down and have a family, so you are looking subconsciously for the best genes to have children with.
It is hard to say how long I have been single because I have had spells where I have lived with someone, but someone serious not for about 12 years. I have someone living with me now, but I don't think he is someone who I would like to start a family with, because of life style and so I don't consider this relationship to be serious. So basically the older you get the more perfect the man should be, otherwise it is almost better to be single. Mum always said that "no man is better than a bad man".

2 years. I got bored of being in a relationship, so split up with my ex. Was very happy being single, and didn't really want another relationship till I met my current boyfriend. Even then, we both only wanted it to be a 'sex thing', but we very quickly fell in love and have been together 7 months.

I've been since 1996. I broke up with my boyfriend after a 15 year relationship. I have yet to find another person that I want to be with. I've had loads of dates, but no one has captured my heart since my first one. So, I'm relatively content and if someone comes along, great; if not, that's fine as well.
