i have media center and want to record a show but it says tuner card is malfuntioning or i dont have one well?

Can someone tell me the steps to connect media center to tv to record and tell me how do i know if i have a tuner card

so you can connect calbe tv on the card, if you don't have tuner card, then you can buy one very cheap at. www.tigerdirect.com or you find it on Best Buy Stores.
