From a man's perspective, I like a woman to have both agree.

I have found that I can't trust my heart. I've never understood how it could fall for some women and not for others. Now, if my heart falls for her, my head has to agree before I take the leap.

Interesting question. I just went through the soul searching part of myself a year ago to answer that question myself. Life is all about heart and soul. I have chosen to follow my heart and if my heart is aching, then I consult my head to figure out what is wrong. I found that when I followed my head, to many factors always weighed into my decisions. If something makes my heart feel good, then there is no decision, just follow the heart. I have been very lucky in doing this, I have found my soulmate and whenever we hit a tough spot, then I use my head to get through it because when the heart is sad, the tendancy is to take durastic measures to keep the heart happy. Awesome question.

Here's the deal as I see it. Follow your heart if you are just out there having fun and seeing what life has to offer. If you are playing with fire, be prepared for the conseqences. If you are looking for a steady, real relationship, use your head. No sense in following your heart to 'love' a man who lies and cheats, better to use common sense to pick a REAL MAN who will treat you right. That's one of the biggest mistakes women make, they pick the wrong type of man for them, and then they say, 'but I love him' silly women....love is an emotion, not an action, love is a feeling, not a behavior. OK, sorry to rant...

Babe, I use both. I use my head to make the right decesions and my heart follows by making sure it is the "right thing from my heart". You have to have faith in order to stay strong make the right moral, standing desicions.God bless.

Both have to agree.
If there's a tremendous split between:
"He's not good for me but I love him" and
"He'd be good for me, but there's no attraction there"
then hold out for:
"He's a wonderful, kind, solid, stable, faithful, good-looking man and I love him to absolute distraction."
THAT'S what'll work in the long haul. Trust me.

I accompanied my heart, and it became wonderfull on a similar time as the dating lasted. Now that the dating has ended, I understand that I definitely have blown a different risk for occupation progression.

My head, duh. All my heart does is pump blood. It cannot be trusted with important matters.
