Because I seriously am planning on pursuing a career as an actress, and I don't want to audition for a role with a blank resume. And I don't think I want to waste four years at some college majoring in theatre.

Absolutely, couldn't suggest a better way. Local thaeatre is a great thing. Also, I wouldn't rule out going to college for it though. If you have a "blank resume" then 2 or 4 years of college theatre will give you a lot more experience and you will improve a lot. But regardless of that, I'd jump into local theatre first chance you get.

Why do you think that studying theatre at a college is a "waste"? You've already admitted you have no experience, but obviously you have enough to make a determination about what kind of training is worthwhile, and what kind isn't.

Good luck.

It is one way, and it can be a big help.

Read Bruce Campbell's book:

If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor.

Great Book
