measures the "Radiation" that is being put out. There was once a company called "Luminous", they made glow in the dark watch dials, they used "Radium" to make them "GLOW" in the dark around the 1920's, many people got radiation poisoning from working there painting the dials on the watches. Mostly women worked there, you can hold a "Geiger Counter" over their graves to this day (over 80 years later), and it will STILL register as "HOT", I feel so sorry for those poor girls.
