I purchased a new manufactured home last Fall. From the start, and after carefully adjusting the float, etc...my 2 toilet stools will both run a little water maybe 2-3 times a day. It is as if somebody starts to press the lever and then stops. There is no other leak and it just happens for 5 seconds and then completely stops. It isn't really losing water to speak of, but it is a little unnerving to hear them do this. I have never had this issue in the many years I have dealt with stools.
Any ideas? Do I just have inferior guts in the toilets? Should I just replace them? Mainly, I just need to know if anyone else has experienced this and what it is.

It's just the flapper. Replace them and all should be ok. The flapper is the thing that lifts up when you press the lever and allows the water to flow out of the tank and into the bowl.

Assuming you have a well pump (or if city water, a pressure spike in the main) when the well pump starts that can cause a small pressure spike, which leads to a little leak by at the float valve for like 10 seconds, especially if the rubber stopper leaks a bit and the reservoir bowl drains down some.

Sounds like your tank is having to refill itself because of loosing water through the flush seal (this is the rubber flapper that covers the hole in the bottom of the tank that is pulled open when you push your handle down to flush). My suggestion would be "turn off the water below the tank to do replace this rubber flapper" they are easy to replace and requires no tools. You can do it!
Good Luck!

If you have the float adjusted properly, the stopper my not be sealing off all the way.Make sure the chain is not too short, or kinked.Check for debris under stopper.

the rubber seal between your tank and bowl might need replacing. you can buy a tank to bowl kit at home depot. Or call a plumber.
