I want to buy a usb 2.0 hub but my computer has no 2.0 usb's in them can i connect the hub to a usb 1.1?

Sure, but you'll only get the quality of a 1.1. USBs are downward compatible, but if you want true 2.0 speed, you'll need to get a 2.0 card and put it in your computer.
