what if you don't run headlights, radio, heater, fan , AC, any other electrical things? wouldn't that make it run a long time since it isn't using batter power while its running, only batter power to crank it?

Depends on several factors, such as battery strength and condition, and how much electrical crap you're running (headlights, fans (heat), radio, etc). And, how early you catch it.

The best I can tell you is if you know the alt. belt is broken and / or the alt. is not charging the battery, immediately turn off as much electrical crap as you can do safely, as this will considerably prolong the emergency distance you can drive.

As for how far, that just depends, again, you could have a 750cca battery or a 1000cca battery, and it could be almost in brand new condition or just about to crap out, too...
Obviously, you get way farther during the daytime with no headlights running.
I've had cars in this situation drive from as little as 15-20 miles to as far as 400 miles without charge.

Hundreds of miles (about one 8 hour day) during the daytime with a good fully charged battery (all accessories turned off including the lights etc). The computer, ignition and fuel pump only take 10 amperes at most and you have at least 100 ampere hour reserve capacity (stated on the battery). However, if the voltage drops much below 10 Volts DC, eventually the computer and electronics (ignition, fuel pump etc) will drop out due to insufficient voltage and electrical power. At night with all the accessories running in the rain, you better head for the garage! Also, don't turn the engine off at any point or you may not be able to get it started again.

PS, You said alternator belt only, not serpentine belt!!

The alternator is what powers all digital instruments on your vehicle (radio, cigarette lighter and so on.) so which you cancontinual it yet to make your battery final longer you may desire to turn each thing off which you would be able to. notwithstanding i would not even recommend using there (the above became into what you asked yet below is what i could do as a vehicle technician interior the army) i could get him to return to you because of the fact consistently draining your battery and eventually thoroughly draining your battery will reason harm to it and likely harm it quickly. An alternatore belt isn't difficult to positioned on i could actually say the two.. a million. Get him to return to you 2. call somebody to pull your vehicle there (even a chum with a hitch) 3. power there that's what i could do in my opinion

It depends on how charged and strong the battery is and if the headlights are on. However the answer is not very long at all. I would drive it to the nearest shop and get it changed if it makes it. You have nothing to lose. Do not try to dive it further because then you will most likely be spending more on a tow truck.

until the battery goes dead. If you have a good battery then you might beable to drive for a 20 to 30 minutes. I had the alternator belt come off my truck and I was able to drive for about 20 of 25 minutes. I made it to where I was going so I don't really know how far it really would have gone.

With the fuel pumps these days being electric and the computer having to run.....it will run about 2 hours. That is long enough to get to a store and get a pair of panty hose and use that temporarily. Hope this helps.

If your belt breaks your car will not last more than 15 seconds before dying. Lets review if it does break, your water pump stops, your alternator stops, your fan stops, your a/c stops. Your call will just die out in a matter of seconds.

Fisherman,
The altenator stores energy in your battery. Since the belt is broken you won't be able to go too far. You may be able to go a few blocks before the battery dies.

you can't run a car without the alt belt, the battery also runs the fuel pump, and also you can ruin your battery.
