when i turn the key i hear a click inthe motor. it's not the batt., starter or relay i have a 1973 evinrude motor

Let me suggest this to you, if all the parts, battery - starter -relay are truly good. Check your connects on the wires. I can't tell everybody enough. about this. especially those GROUND connections. I know! I still get fooled by this!

Could be the starter itself, and you need to load test the battery before you can really say that's not it.

its the battery or starter unless the motor seized up

try this really tighten the connection on your battery
to the point of almost over tighten....also check for blown fuses

Might be that since you stored your boat old gasoline gummed up your engine.
