I majored in fine art 17yrs ago, and loads of experience in textiles and fashion, due to paying of bills i have done a variety of jobs from dressmaker, to currently secondary school teacher, which i have had enougth, i just want to go back to being creative again, any suggestions how?

I think your best bet is to become a textile designer: probably you should try to do a post-graduate course as the market will have changed significantly over the last 15 years.

I don't think it would matter how long ago you majored as fine art will still be that. If you are very serious your best bet would be to have a website showing what you do. No doubt you will have pictures that you would be able to use as a gallery and you will be able to write your own content. I have built a website of my own for my business and if you like the look of it you can contact me through there, and I could build your site for you.

I don't think so, unless you show your work in really cool commercial galleries and sell loads. But that hardly ever happens. I am a painter, and I cannot make a living selling my work. However, one of my studio art mates sells out every exhibition she has and lives comfortably on her earnings. Her stuff is deemed hot and mine is not! :(

go to university, youll need to get up to scratch with all the new stuff thats around and they will point you in the right direction, even if yoou just do it part tiime etc, ive done it im a mature student again after 25yrs of working in media!
