I agree. They said the government is going to apologize for slavery and how the Native American Indians were treated.
When they very first started saying that blacks should have an apology and get paid for how their ancestors were treated in slavery I said that they should have to prove THEIR ancestors were slaves and either send them back to where they would be had their ancestors been left in Africa or give to the United ***** college fund rather than hand it to individuals for some to only use it to get high---how would that be honoring their ancestors?
Also many whites helped the slaves escape in the underground railroad and some slave owners only bought their slaves so that mean slave owners couldn't have them.
I have all along also been saying we owe more to the American Indian.

I am so annoyed by this... I moved to VA from CT 10 yrs ago and now consider myself a Virginian. There is no reason why the state legislature should have apologized for slavery. I agree w/ you 100%. It's time to let the past stay in the past.

i think of that's ignorant and ridiculous. The peole that at the instant stay in Virgina do no longer and characteristic never owned slaves an afternoon of their existence. Why ought to they be held responsible for something that somebody that's lifeless and buried did? i does no longer ask for forgiveness for something your grandparents did or for that remember something you probably did. i could additionally no longer want to settle for an apology from anybody different than the guy who did it. To me it may be hollow on the grounds that's merely a exposure stunt. As for people meting out apologies, why do no longer the governments alongside the coast of Afirica make formal apologies. even with each little thing it became their ancestors that initiated the slave commerce by means of fact they needed the rifles and gold that the Europeans delivered with them. in the beginning the tribes in Africa could flow to conflict with one yet another and get carry of prisoners. Then they could commerce those prisoners for jewels, gold , and weapons from the Europeans. finally the tribal leaders have been given grasping and started paying for and merchandising their own people. the way I see it that makes them merely at, if not extra culpable than usa for the slave commerce. additionally, I belive France owes the apology so some distance as American settlers flow. The French have been the 1st to flow to Africa and start up up an open slave commerce path. The people bought them whilst they have been given right here. i've got self belief that if anybody is going to start up issuing apologies it may be first, the Afircan international locations alongside the Atlantic Coast, secondly, the French, and thirdly usa, in that order. that's clearly, if any apologies ought to be issued in any respect.
