Some got a Tax cut. Most did not. Most Americans pay more in total taxes than 6 years ago. Republican control of Congress has helped some but not most Americans. Poverty is at a 32 year high in America, 16 million Americans live in poverty. The Iraq occupation will cost working class tax payers $2 trillion over the next ten years. We have a $9 trillion debt over the next ten years. Are you happy ?

The plight of the severely poor is a distressing sidebar to an unusual economic expansion. Worker productivity has increased dramatically since the brief recession of 2001, but wages and job growth have lagged behind. At the same time, the share of national income going to corporate profits has dwarfed the amount going to wages and salaries. That helps explain why the median household income of working-age families, adjusted for inflation, has fallen for five straight years.
These and other factors have helped push 43 percent of the nation's 37 million poor people into deep poverty - the highest rate since at least 1975.

No, because all year long I pay 2 state taxes, one city and federal also. What more can they take from me?

I'm indifferent. I don't mind paying taxes if it's going to schools to help kids with their education, improving the city, and even for some social security. What I can't stand doing is helping stupid people live off the government and supporting their 10 kids and supporting them when they are on "disability" when the only thing wrong with them is their overweight, or they are missing fingers. Common people... Stop popping out the kids, and living off the government unless it's for a good reason and WORK! And then I have to end up owing taxes this time of year because I work and am middle class.

My wife and I paid about $10,000 in income taxes, and I'm perfectly happy with that.

I understand that I get great benefits from our nation, and I'm willing to pay for them. In fact, I'm willing to pay more than my share because I understand that many others are struggling just to survive.

Of course, I'd rather my money be used to help feed starving children instead of making a 1/100,000 payment on a single stealth bomber that we don't need. But that's why I vote.

HELL NO!!! The only reason I pay these illegal taxes (which don't go to anything, but the Federal Reserve's pockets and nothing else) is that if I don't they'll either take my house, car, imprison me or kill me.

There's no law saying we have to pay taxes. Yes the 16th ammendment talks about income tax, but without clarifying what "income" is. It's not mandatory. It's a fraud, lie and we're all caught up in it. All it does is help elect whoever the elite feel needs to be in the white house.

There will always be poverty because some people will never want to work....What about the trillions spent on the war on poverty starting in LBJ days... wasted money and it is still being wasted... What about the 10 or so trillion dollars wasted on supporting the united nations EVERY year talk about wasted money

I pay my fair share, and I also participate in some tax-free savings plans which I'd like to keep politicians like Hillary Clinton as far away from as possible. I do not want to be punished for being responsible.

No. I would like to have a say in what is done with the money I contribute (which isn't even legal, but that's another story). But since the 'officials' we 'elect' don't have out interests in mind my money will go to who ever is paying the politicians.
