1) They were both legal hits.
2) Those are the only two hits you can think of.
3) Lindros has only himself to blame for playing in that game post-concussion.
4) Karyia came back the same game. And scored.
5) Stevens isn't playing anymore.

I started watching hockey in the late sixties after the expansion the size of the league nearly trippled. That's when there were some headhunters lads. Hardly anyone wore a helmet unless they had like a broken skull. Half the goalies didn't even where masks. These guys today aren't nearly as violent as those guys were and well into the eighties as well. When I was growing up watching hockey the best guys didn't even make what is the league minnimum nowdays. These guys were crazy !

You are mistaken,
His hits, although devastating to players were clean, textbook, open ice checks
Scott Stevens may have been the best open ice checker in the history of the game
That's why he's never classified as a headhunter
Lindros always skated with his head down and if anything should thank Stevens for the lesson

His hits were technically "clean" because the players had the puck, but I still think they were cheap. Look at clips from his big hits. For the most part he hits guys that are already being covered or checked by his defensive partner. You will see an opposing player in a one on one situation, then Steven's comes in full speed from the left side and hammers him.

Because he wasn't a dirty player. His hits were legal.
