I feel that they based this movie on the great Thomas Wolfe novel
"You Can't Go Home Again". The parallel of the story is to
coincidental in concept not to have been at least, in part, a
consideration. You cannot recover one's past , regardless the
adversity, when you do go home. Your past shapes your present
and you must face whatever you have become, though sadness
may be overwhelming. His future really holds nothing but the
look of a character that things will happen to, rather than an
assertive one, thus we are left to wonder.

I was touched by how much money Federal Express pumped into this boring, idiotic three-hour snooze fest and commercial for their product. I must admit that I liked Tom Hanks' performance, but I wasn't very touched by it.

Yes,
if you like this movie, you should read "Hatchet" i believe it is by gary paulson. it is very touching. it is about a teen boy who is flying to canadian wilderness to visit his father, when the pilot suffers a heart attack and dies. He is stranded with only a hatchet. In the book, the boy must survive, and deal with the divorse of his parents. great book, and it made me think about the everyday things in life we all take fr granted

Yes : It made me feel that I would never want that to happen to me. For one thing I wear contacts and would be blind without any form of corrective eyewear( and I would hope that I would have the presence of mind to have put my tweezers in my pants pocket , you know the hidden one behind to first one at the front.)

Not touches, but impressed by the acting prowess. I mean, that was him, alone, on screen for the bulk of the movie

Yes, I was touched. What I learned is that when all else fails, you'll always have a friend in Wilson

i felt sorry for him, the fact that he went a little insane talking to wilson and himself. then to come home and find that his wife was remarried and things like that. but at the end when he sees the woman who he delivered the package to you know he still has a chance with getting a date!
