My computer has an Intel(R) Celeron(R) processor and it has 1.50 GHz and i need at least 2.0 GHz.?

I would like to play the Sims2 and it requires 2.0 GHz. How do i get more GHz?

The truth is processor speed will never stop you from running a game, only memory and video card capabilities will. So try running it before you get dramatic about upgrading...best way to do this is download a demo for the game.

Also, you must consider what type of processor they say when they say 2.0ghz...your 1.5ghz mobile (M) chip is as fast as a a 2.4ghz non-mobile chip.

If the game requires 2+ times the capacity of your processor (IE requires 3.0 mobile and you have 1.5 mobile, or requires about 4.0 non-mobile...or you have a 1.5 non-mobile and it needs a 3.0ghz non-mobile), it's going to be too slow to be playable. Otherwise, don't worry about it.

If you are dying for full gaming speed (and the requirements indeed say 2.0ghz MOBILE chip or faster required)...YOU CAN UPGRADE (THOUGH THE PROCESS ISN'T EASY). To do this buy a celeron m 2.0ghz processor and take apart your laptop to install it (look at the guide for the motherboard on the computer manufacturer's page or the motherboard manufacturer's page)...which is tough.
Or you could buy the processor and have a pro install it, but, if you do that, it will likely run you a hundred dollars+ for installation on a desktop (and many times more for a laptop), either way,better to find the time to learn to install it yourself.

You can't. You have to get a new laptop. The ghz is reffering to the speed of the proccessor. You need to get a new computer.

Anyways, you could check to see what kind of processor your motherboard accepts, and see if it is possible to upgrade it. A 2 gig celeron processor is pretty cheap nowadays, so I would see what the fastest one you could install is, and buy that one.
