Our country really doesn't seem to understand the dynamics of someone that is mixed or doesn't appear to be what they really are. They tell the person that they have to relate to one thing, and the one thing that looks most prominent is that thing. However, don't let that stop you from saying you're an Afro-Latino. On forms answer other and if they have a line to write what that other is, right what you are, an Afro-Latino.

If you have some negra in you, even if it was like 1/16th by law you were a negra in this country. Its a hold over of slavery You should really learn the history of this nation.
As far as Afro-Latinos not considering themselves black, they can call themselves what they want, they just need to be aware that they are in the USA and people in the usa do not see it that way.

B/c they ARE BLACK....Black is a RACE not a nationality...Latino or Hispanic is NOT a race...
Your nationality may be Puerto Rican but your race is black....
Latin ppl are the most racist ppl out there, they really LOVE to deny the fact that have african roots...
There are also many latin ppl who arent mixed with other races..There are some latin ppl who just have white blood and there are some that just have black blood...but many are mixed with both...and some Native American...but Majority of the caribbean hispanics are mixed with black and white blood NOT Native American like many of them would like you to believe,

If ur afro-latino, ur probably mostly black. Ur ancestors were african slaves sent to Spanish colonies instead of English colonies, but u may have latino blood from interbreeding.

They are black... and they are also hispanic. Hispanic is not a race, it is an ethnicity. You can be a white hispanic, a black hispanic, a mestizo hispanic, etc.
